How the hell do you move a baby into the bedroom with a toddler??

DS2 (10 months) currently sleeps in our bedroom, but we really need to get him into the bedroom with DS1 (3 years). He gets woken up by my DH's snoring and if he knows there is someone in the room with him when he wakes in the night he stands up and rattles the side of his cot to come out and play.

He still has night feeds but is easy to settle, but going down to sleep in the first place can be a bit noisy (but may be as our bedroom is really hot and light, but the boys bedroom is cooler and has a blackout blind). DS1 can sleep through most things once he is properly asleep, but it takes him a while to drop off after I've done stories and songs.

Any tips?

My two were a bit older when we moved them in together but I would focus on getting DS1 to sleep first as you can play around with DS2's nap times and lengths. Then focus on getting DS2 to sleep. You could try a gradual withdrawl technique to get DS2 to sleep - and to drop the night feeds - with the aim that it is quieter but I was amazed how much DS1 would sleep through or vice versa if either of them were up in the night. (e.g. DS2 had really bad croup so we were in and out of the room, phoning Out of Hours Drs, boiling the kettle in there, and DS1 did not bat an eyelid) In our house whoever needs the most sleep and / or is quickest to go to sleep goes to bed first. Often DS3 who is now 2yrs goes to bed last as I know he will get a nap in the day, does not need to concentrate for school like DS1 and is not an absolute horror when he is tired like DS2!
