3am waking every day in pain?

Dd (6months) has always had what I think is tummy ache / painful wind at night. I have cut down her night feeds because I felt that if she didn't feed so often at night her digestive system wouldn't have much to do at night. It has really helped and I think her night feeds were habit.
She still, though, wakes at 3am EVERY day with wind and tummy ache which continues on and off. She tries to sleep through it but then will give in and wake properly around 5.30. As soon as she is awake she seems to have no discomfort and is perfectly cheerful (I am not though!)

I don't think it's hunger waking her as I have tried feeding her when she wakes and it makes no difference.

It's very hard to see a HV where I am but am tempted to try the gp soon as I just don't know what's best to do. Just feel the pain can't be that bad as she is fine once awake.
