Room temp and what are your babies wearing?

Just wondered what you are putting babies in in these warm temps? Ds2 is 9mo, his room is at 26 degrees and he's in a vest and 1 tog grobag. Is this ok?

25 degrees and just a vest at the moment. I have a bag on standby when I check him before I go to bed. It was borderline whether I put it on really.

cheesenpickle · 23/07/2012 19:58

1 tog sleeping bag and just a nappy. Hes 14mths- not sure if that should make a difference! Its 25c in his room. I think its too warm for 2 layers personally.

HappyAsASandboy · 23/07/2012 20:01

My twins are 21 months and in those short sleeved/short legged sleepsuits things (and a nappy, obviously). I'll put their v lightweight duvets over them when I go up to bed and they'll kick them off within minutes.

The room is 25 degrees.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 23/07/2012 20:03

Blimey - you all have very hot houses!

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 23/07/2012 20:05

we're in a gloomy old Victorian terrace, so it's quite cool inside - about 20 degrees. dd2 is in short pyjamas and a lightweight grobag.

Kveta · 23/07/2012 20:07

DD is 6 weeks tomorrow and was in a sleeveless vest and nappy last night. room 24 degrees. she'll be in the same tonight. we do bedshare if that makes a difference?

Pascha · 23/07/2012 20:08

The rest of it's not that hot but his room has a sloping wall which faces west so it catches all the sun in the late afternoon and there's nothing stopping the room from baking in summer.

twojumpingbeans · 23/07/2012 20:10

My boiling hot house is around 25 degrees, pretty uncomfortable. So DD2 is just in her nappy for now and I'll cover her later. Poor little sweaty head....

lookout · 23/07/2012 20:25

I'm a bit worried now. Thing is he's a sleep monkey so if i go up now to try and take a layer off it'll be a disaster [connfused]

Confused obviously!

Does he sleep on his back or bum-up? If the zip is accessible just undo it all the way without disturbing him and pop open the shoulders.

Pascha · 23/07/2012 20:30

Assuming you can creep in without waking him of course... My son I can but my nephew would have heard me at the creak of the door.

lookout · 23/07/2012 20:32

He tummy sleeps but wriggles a lot, the zip could be anywhere by now! The door creaks, sometimes it wakes him sometimes it doesn't! Not sure how brave I feel Smile

28 degrees in the room, and 5mo dd is in a nappy only. It gives me a sad feeling, and I can't work out why!

AWomanCalledHorse · 23/07/2012 20:35

It's bloody hot (don't know the temp) & 7month old DS has been in just a nappy or nothing all day (I don't dress him unless we're going out or it's cold indoors).

lookout, we've never used vests & he seems happier this way!

lookout · 23/07/2012 20:38

AWomanCalledHorse I know right! Ds is like this too, much happier with as few clothes on as possible, but I freak out for some reason if he doesn't have at least a nappy and vest on Hmm!

Might pluck up the courage and go and undo the bag now...

We're all holding our breath for you... dont stub your toe on the cot in the dark!

lookout · 23/07/2012 21:20

Done Grin Didn't even stir for the sticky door, wasn't sweating and actually felt cool to the touch on his chest. Can't believe a) I managed to do it without waking him, and b) he is not boiling hot! I am sweltering Grin Thanks all for your replies!

DS is 7 months tomorrow and he's in a long sleeved babygrow (no vest) and one cellular blanket.

Pascha · 23/07/2012 21:26

Grin have a drink!

lookout · 23/07/2012 21:28

Pascha why do you think it took me so long to come back? Wink

OneLittleBabyTerror · 24/07/2012 08:44

27 degrees last night, and 15mo DD was only in a short sleeved vest.

lookout · 24/07/2012 09:09

I think tonight I'll just put him in a nappy in the bag. I'm pretty certain he won't sleep without the bag on - sleep monkey Grin Thanks for all the replies.
