9 month old waking up at 3-4am every night!

DS is 9 months, breastfed 4 times a day, 3 solids meals a day, naps twice a day, goes to sleep at 7pm and wakes up without fail at 3-4am for a breastfeed. Then goes straight to sleep till around 7am. He used to sleep through to 7am and only started doing this behaviour at 7 months. I have tried the 'dream feed' at 10pm, but he still wakes up! He can get himself back to sleep if he wakes up before 3-4am. Even though it is bearable now to breastfeed him at this time, I can imagine when he is weaned onto cow milk it will be worse (ie having to go to the kitchen, heat up the milk etc). Any suggestions please? Thank you!

I think one wake up at this age is perfectly normal, babies do wake up and want to be fed / comforted. Who has made you feel he shouldn't be waking up (or should I ask, which book have you read?) If you don't want to be going downstairs to get the milk then I suggest you don't wean him yet :)
