If your bf baby falls asleep during feedso, what do you do about naps?

Ds2 is 7 months, and bf on demand. Sometimes he'll feed for about 5 min, othertimes he'll fall asleep during a feed, and will feed for about 30 min, then continue to "snack" in his sleep, on and off, until he wakes up. Until now, I've been happy just to sit there with him, sometimes for as much as 2 hours at a time, but that is not going to be able to continue. Ds1 finishes school soon, and it wouldn't be fair on him to tiptoe around for hours at a time because ds2 is napping.

How do you schedule naps for a baby that falls asleep on the breast?
Should I be setting a time-limit, eg 30 min feed, then into the cot? Ds2 has lost the ability to fall asleep in the buggy, so going out for walks won't be the answer.
Any ideas/hints/tips gratefully received!

My dd is 3 months and I too am wondering how to cope with 2 after the end of term. My theory is that we manage over the weekend, so we will muddle through somehow. DD will just have to grab her opportunities when she can as we will be out doing big boy stuff with ds (5) Go out with friends as often as possible and then they can help with ds1.

We do bf on demand to, and it is pretty free - dd schedules her naps for when she wants them - nothing to do with me! She does get woken up way more than ds did because of school runs etc. And if she suspects I am beginning to understand what she wants and when, she changes the rules :)

Thanks umbongo, your last sentence made me smile. We had a bad day, today. He normally settles down for a marathon feed/sleep on me session around 9.30. We started as normal, but after 30 min I moved him to the cot. He woke up, and was okay/minor whinging only for the first 10 minutes, then started crying. I tried the pick up/put down thing (lots) but he got more and more worked up (took longer for him to settle in my arms, cried as soon as I tried to lay him down again, so gave up. Tried again in the afternoon and it was no better. However, as soon as I then fed him, he immediately fell asleep again. I let him feed for a bit longer, tried to put him back in the cot, he woke up screaming. Fingers crossed for better things tomorrow.
