'Making' a comforting thing that smells of you?

Hi everyone, I've an 8 week old pfb that I'm trying to encourage to take more regular daytime naps, not proving easy.

I have heard putting a toy that smells of you in their crib can help settle them. My silly question is... how did you go about getting your smell on there and which smell is comforting! As in, should it be a breast milk smell so pop it in your bra for a day, or are we talking pheromones so tuck under my arm on a warm day!?

I just used my jumper as a blanket when dd needed settling. It wasnt smelly but smelt of me. Putting milk on a toy will probably just make them hungry!

I just put a muzzle in my bed with us for a few nights. Sometimes find her snuggled up to it, other times she's tied herself in a knot with it!

I have sewn all the baby blankets this time and plan to sleep with them in the bed for a while before DS3 arrives. Grin
