Sleeping so badly due to stuffy nose

For years I have suffered with bad sleep because my nose gets all stuffy, I breathe through my mouth and wake up several times because my mouth it do dry. I've tried all sorts of things. The only thing that really helps are Breathe Right snore strips which open my airways but they are £££ & I can't afford them at the moment. I recently tried using a nasal decongestant which also helped but I'm sure wasn't particularly good for my nose. Currently using Olbas oil on my pillow which is a) ruining my pillow b) making my eyes sting c) keeping me awake and only having a limited effect.

I sleep with the vents open in my windows and the window cracked open and locked. Anyone got any other advice?

Have you tried hay fever/allergy tablets. My ds gets a bit like this at night but is much better after taking one of those each day. I don't buy expensive ones, just the bog standard cheap ones.

No I hadn't thought of that. Are there any issues with taking them regularly?

I don't think so. But my ds only really needs them this time of year when he gets a bit snuffly with a touch of hay fever.

When my DS has a cold and his nose gets stuffy, a humidifier helps a lot. You can try putting a few drops of Olbas oil or eucalyptus oil in it as well?

Also, if using Olbas oil,I would put a few drops on a cloth not straight onto the pillow.
