Tell me about your bedtime routines for a 6 month old and 2 year old

I still haven't got the hang of doing bedtime for two by myself. Not a major issue as DH is generally home for bedtime. But I'd like to be able to feel confident doing both as I'll need to and even DH might need to when I go out.

Currently I put DD to bed (6 months) and DH sorts DS. They both bathe together, then dd goes up as she gets tired while DS has story, milk, etc. on the times I've done it, it's been bath together, keep DD awake through DS's routine. I can't feed DD with DS as she's too nosy and wont eat unless there's minimal stimulation...

What do other people do? A couple of my friends have said they muddle through but not given me any good tips maybe there are none

Mine are a bit older than yours, just 1 and nearly 3, but this hasn't changed for a number of months.

Usually there's both of us, so DH baths them, I read to older DD while he gives little DD some milk in a cup, then we swap and I BF.

If it's just DH, he baths them, gives little DD some milk and reads stories at the same time, puts little DD to bed, then big DD.

Very rarely is it me alone, but I bath them, read to them, try to give little DD some milk in a cup, put big DD to bed, then little DD.

(missed *then BF before little one to bed)

6 months: bath, bf, bed.

2 years: bath, stories, bed.

DH always does bath, I do stories and kiss goodnight.

Sorry - just realised I misread your original post - you mean at once Blush.

Dealing with DS at bedtime makes me feel a bit like a zookeeper sometimes, Lord knows how I'd manage with two. I should have started this mothering game when I was younger and fitter....
