I don't like it and keep worrying...but my husband says to relax.

My 6 month old rolls onto her side within minutes of being put down and is often on her tummy and hour later.
I keep flipping her to back but she keeps sleeping on tummy.

what do you do?

Don't worry about it, mine did that and sleep improved somewhat when I stopped trying to roll her back onto her back when she woke. HV said advice was when they can roll leave them to it, prob was my DD could get onto her front but it took 2 months til sh learned to go the other way. But she had a strong neck so I tried not to worry. Risk of SIDS is much lower by 6 months anyway.

Incidentally DD still sleeps on her tummy at 14mo

My DD did that too, and like you I was really worried about it. When she had just turned 6 months she could roll on to her tummy but couldn't always roll back.

My HV said it was totally fine and she would naturally turn her head to the side so she wasn't face down and could breathe.

She seems more comfortable on her side or front. On the odd occasion when she did get "stuck" she cried really loudly and then we went in and turned her.
It was a bit of a pain, but it only lasted a few weeks and I felt reassured that if she wasn't comfortable she would let us know
