DCs aged 3yrs and 5yrs waking between 5 and 5.30am for past 17 days

My kids have got into a bad habbit of waking horrifically early. They used to wake anywhere from 6.30 to 7.30am which was bearable.

I can't work out if its just the bright mornings, or if they've got over tired and are now not sleeping as long as they should??

Any ideas or tips for getting them back to waking at a reasonable time please??

My 6 month old is doing this. Tried no late nap, early bedtime, later bedtime, darker room, the works. Cutting late nap worked for 3 days, then stopped. Exhausted. It probably is the light though I would think, especially for older children...?

I would say just a phase. Get a blackout blind as that can help. Also we have a clock in the room that is blue at night and you set it for a time that you are happy for them to get up. It then turns yellow (the sun).

If one does it could they get a treat, it then might encourage the other. Make it something really good like chocolate before breakfast!! Yes I will do anything for sleep.

They both have the clocks and black out linings on their curtains!!
Might get the black out stuff you can stick to the glass of the window.

Am thinking it may be over tiredness. DD had a nap in the car yesterday morning and last night went to sleep at usual time and woke at quarter past 6.
