Nearly 10 month old- from delight to horror...

previously delightful DS has barely slept for the last week. Lots of shouting (no tears), refuses to be put down, is just so cross, and we are on our knees after last night resulted in finally going to sleep at 3.30am, with him in the spare bed with me.

After several weeks of him finally sleeping through, this is a massive shock! He's struggled with a cold recently but that's cleared now, leaving this awful child that is making me dread evenings.

Is this a phase? Please reassure me that it gets better - it's like I'm dealing with a newborn again, only 10kgs and my back (and patience) can't take it...!

My 10mo DD was like this a month or so ago, and then she cut loads of teeth all in one go! I remember one particularly bad evening dragging DH out for a long walk at 10pm because she just refused to sleep. It did pass, and she's gone back to sleeping better.

Also, I've been told that there are a couple of big developmental leaps at 8/9/10 months which, together with learning to crawl/walk, can really mess up sleep.

Yes wandering there is a developmental leap at this age which could be affecting sleep and teeth could be an issue too. Have you checked his mouth Nunners?

Thanks both- turns out now that we are a hand, foot and mouth disease household which makes a lot of sense!
