I just checked on DS before going to bed and found him sleeping on his tum. He sleeps in a grobag. What should I do in future: Leave him to it? Tuck a sheet over his gro bagwhen I put him in his cot so he can't move? Or something else more sensible/ creative?

Our DD (6 months) does this now and we leave her to it. As long as he can turn back over if he wants to, I wouldn't worry too much.

It's fine. My dd did this. They're old enough by this stage, and it will stop his head going flat! Grin

from 6 months you can let them sleep in whatever position they choose so I would just leave him how he is.

from 6 months its ok? my baby is one week shy of six months and already only sleeps on her side...a few times have caught her on tummy.

seona - where did you hear that? i keep seeing info that suggests i have to keep them on their back?

from the FSID website:

My baby keeps rolling onto his front. What should I do?

If your baby is less than six months old and you find him sleeping on his tummy, gently turn him onto his back. Don?t feel you need to keep getting up all night to check on this. Whatever your baby?s age, always place him to sleep on his back.

(This suggests to me that after 6 months you can leave them on their front if you find them sleeping in that position)

Nothing to worry about then. Phew! Thankyou.
