Whats yr 9 month olds nap and bedtime?

my dd is nearly 9 months and just started playing around with her sleeps.... She was on a nice predictable nap around 9 and 1 and bed at seven and up at seven (with lots of night waking)....

Suddenly she is pushing to be awake for 3.5 hours between naps and not ready for bed after being up for 4 hours any more,,,,

Her night she had cut from 12 hours total to 11 hours....

So she has been staying up late and then making up for it with longer naps. And she is cutting teeth and has a cold - so I don't want to wake her from naps....

I remember my son being a bit hard to read at this age. He started dropping to one nap around 10 months and was totally down to one naps by 12 months. So I know she is likely to be beginning this transition. But I can't for the life of me remember how it all happened.

Would love to hear your experience if you can recall it?

mine is the same, ive just posted on someone elses thread something similar, dd is 5 months and will stay awake for 4 hours without sleep in the evening like she is fighting going to bed. i have tried putting her down awake, feeding to sleep, crying down but she just wants to stay awake til 12 at night. 2/3 feeds in the night and then she is up at 7am back to sleep at 9 til 1130 but when she wakes for her feed she is still trying to sleep on me. her naps are at all different times through the day, you can never say for how long or at what time. should i be implementing a routine on her no matter what because when i have posted before on the breast feeding and bottle people have said just go with the flow... its effecting my relationship with partner now because she is always with me at night!
i know mine is younger but im hoping to read what other people say to you about their older babies and what their routines are and if they went with the flow and let them nap/sleep when they wanted or do you start interrupting them etc.

Mine is 10 months and his naps do vary a bit but it's more his night-sleep which has been up and down recently.

He wakes up around 5am (often as a result of doing a poo, I suspect) but will doze until 6.30 if we're lucky. He is then up and about for approx 2 hours, after which he has a nap of anything from 1-2 hours, so usually awake by 11am.

He's then awake until 2 or 3pm (barring a light nap in the pram) and will go down for an hour or so. He wakes up, has dinner, plays for a bit and is generally tired enough for bed between 6.30 and 7.30pm.

He wakes quite frequently through the night, but is only getting one dreamfeed at circa 11pm. The rest of the time we leave him in his cot and 9 times out of 10 he self-settles (although sometimes he gets 'stuck' sitting up or even standing)!!

I've only recently discovered he'll self-settle so readily, due to the fact that I was alone at home with him for a few days and was simply too knackered to leap out of bed as fast as normal to attend to his squeaks. I lay there for just a bit longer hoping he'd settle and lo, he did Grin

I have to say that babies are so different and you really can't draw any conclusions from other people's experiences. Having said that I am dreading DS cutting down on his daytime naps, I have built my current life around them!!
