Co sleeping DD in her own room for the first time

I've just put my nearly 9 month old dd in her own room for the first time tonight.

We've been co-sleeping (cot at side of our bed with side down and feeds through the night in our bed) but think we dp's snoring is waking her more than she would normally so giving this a go.

I'm sad that she is getting older and even sadder that she went down no problem Sad but I should be happy that she has settled and feels safe where she is.

9 months is deemed as quite late to move them in their own room, am I right? Most of my friends moved them by 6 months if not before.

My DS is 10 months and still in our bed/sidecar cot. No sign of him moving out just yet, but I am suspicious that we actually disturb him a bit as well so we might try his own room soon. I have to admit to dragging my heels over it though as I will really miss him Sad

My ds is 9m and still in our room co sleeping part of the time. The other 3 have been in their own rooms looong before 6m (good sleepers) so this is by far the longest for me. I too will miss him loads Blush

Well it lasted from 7.30 to 2.30am last night before she ended up back with me Smile

Think she was teething, therefore feeding more so wanted mummy.

Jen I have been dragging my heels for a few weeks, I know we are disturbing her but it's too easy to get her back off again! Now I have to get out of bed, walk down the hall and in to her room, get her out of the cot...blah blah it's so hard this parenting lark, I just don't know whether to leave it a few more weeks or not Confused

9 months is considered fairly late in some circles, but not others.

I moved DS out at 2.6 and I still felt sad the first time we managed an entire night in separate beds for the majority!

Can't sleep with him in with me now though - he's 3.7 and giant.

We tried at 3.0, but I was getting less sleep, so dd 3.5 is still in with me. Its lovely :)

My ds went in at 9 mo too. We co-slept prior to that and for about 2 months none of us slept well. Ds fed a lot when beside me, but woke to feed, and stayed awake. I was back at work, and like a zombie. After a few nights in his own room, and dh doing any settling, he started to sleep well. I still feed at 3/4, and am happy with that. It seems that my boobs presence was overstimulating him, and although I really miss ds, we are all much better restedGrin. And we generally co-sleep after that feed, which is great. He wakens very early though- 5.30 for the day, so I'm thinking about WTS - but that's a whole other thread!!Grin
