In the week DD 13MO naps in her cot and i plan our day around this. At the weekend we like to go out for the whole day. Just curious what other people do for naps when you go out for the whole day.

thanks.

we used to just hope they would go to sleep in the pram/buggy

Sling when small, buggy when bigger. Pop a muslin or blanket or sarong over the top if it helps them drop off.

Slept in the pushchair.

mellowmee · 21/04/2012 09:13

Yes, DD sleeps in the pushchair, but will only sleep in it if it is moving, and not for more than an hour, so we have to factor in a bloody hour long walk if she is to nap this way - is this just what other people do to? Sometimes I feel crazy planning the day around her sleeping so much!

mellow, you could be me! I have to plan the weekend around 13mo dc's naps too. DH gets really annoyed cos he says I'm obsessive about the timings but honestly, I know if he doesn't get proper sleep he'll be up all night..

I'm just in the process of dropping his morning nap (wish me luck!) so hoping his main stint will be 11.30-1.30. Have to plan around that now!

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 21/04/2012 12:01

Nap in the pram or the car. Not much else you can do really and if she doesn't nap well it's only one day out of the week. Most children in a good routine can cope with that.

showtunesgirl · 21/04/2012 20:58

I note down what time she last woke up and then about the time she should be sleeping I put the hood of the pram up and avoid all eye contact and make it as boring as possible. She soon drops off.

However, I have to go out on Wednesday evening and DD is coming with me so I'll be using a Koo-di Shade then to make it boring when it's time for her normal bedtime.

I just let her fall asleep in the pram or car. Mind you cant put her down in bed in day time. Could with her big sister either. Always the pram at meats not tied that way.....

Dottymcdot · 21/04/2012 21:06

Least not meats

BertieBotts · 22/04/2012 09:16

DS slept in it even if it was still... sorry! I guess we were just lucky.
