So ds has ended up with a foam mattress. He is almost 7 mtgs and I hate it. There is a dent where his head is as soon as he has been in it once after turning it over.

Dd had a sprung mattress and slept much better.....could changing mattress make a difference

Never tried BUT

DS sleeps like a log on the futon mattress on the floor next to his bed - better than in his cot. This may also be due to one of us being there though.

I do wonder if DS is like DH - who would be happy sleeping on a brick mattress.

That's interesting.

Tge last couple of nights seem to have had more success with him going down on his front.

DS1 (from 2-3years) used to never settle easily at 7pm - lots of messing around and trying to escape various stair gates. He was in a rock hard, small cot bed mattress, with equally crap toddler duvet. At 3 years old we moved him into a bed with adult mattress and adult duvet. He has never once wondered out of his room and slept like a log since! So I would say yes!

Thanks for that. Think I am going to change it as soon as funds allow.
