3 month old sleeping habits all over the place

DD is now 3 months, she never used to sleep through at all untill about 9 wks when we got her a sleeping bag, as soon as we got it she slept through for the first time ever and continued to do so for about 2 weeks. i had a nice little routine going on where at about 9.30 i'd change her, put her in her sleeping bag, feed her and then she'd be off for the night. unfortunately this didn't last as she now keeps falling asleep in her rocker downstairs at any time between 6-8 pm without her sleeping bag and therefore its a nightmare trying to transfer her in to it and then in to her cot. what's more she will then wake at around 12-1am to be fed as she missed out on her usual bedtime feeds. last night she woke up at 4am as well and had to be fed, she hasn't woken more than once in the night for ages! she also seems really agitated and rubs her face/eyes and wriggles a lot, which just seems to add to her frustration! i think she wants to sleep through but cant for some reason. what on earth is going on? has anyone else experienced similar? thanks in advance :)

I had this with ds. I Mrs SMuggity smug at baby group, when he was sleeping through at 8 weeks. It all went tits up at 12 weeks though.

The trouble is, they're changing all the time in that first year, so just as you think you've spotted a pattern, it will change, and by the time you're used to that - they'll change again.

Both mine have liked a pre-bed nap at around 6ish (whihc is currently a pita as I'm trying to get older ds ready for bed.)

Dd is 20 weeks and has settled into a new routine of:
nap between 530 - 6, followed by wake up and usually a bit of tired whinging.

630 ready for bed.
7 boob to sleep.
Then she wakes up for a feed at......
Sometimes 10
Sometimes 2
Sometimes 4
Sometimes 6
Sometimes all of the above, sometimes none.

They do get a sleep regression at 4 months, when they develop more adult sleep patterns - once they wake up it can be harder to drop off, so just be alert to that.

thanks, that's reassuring! she's now definitely come down with a cold so i guess that may have been what's wrong earlier in the week as well. last night she would only sleep in her rocker as she was so sniffly and clearly really uncomfortable lying on her back in her cot, poor girl!
