7 mo - How many naps and at what time of day?

I have a 7 mo and I was wondering how many naps are typical at this age.

Also for how long and at what time roughly?

He is currently on three naps a day, 9, 12 and around 4.30/5ish. I am concerned that this is amount of sleep is interfering with his night time sleep.

Therefore wanted to ask for other typical nap patterns at this age.

Thanks everyone

How long is he sleeping at each nap?

I have 7 month old DTs, I wake them at 7, they are asleep again by 9 for half an hour, then sleep 1130-1ish and will have a nap of about half an hour around 4. I never ever let them sleep past 5 and they go down at 7.

My 8 month old is up at 7am. Has a 40 min ish sleep at 9.30 and then a two hour kip at 1.30pm and then bed at 6.30pm

My 7 month old is up at around 6.30, has a snooze at 9/9.30 for 30mins, a 2 hour kip between 1-3pm and bed at 6.30

Thanks everyone,

He naps at 9ish, 12ish and 4ish. He will usually have an hour and a half either at 9 or 12, but it varies as which one the long nap is. He also sleeps for 30 late afternoon, but this can be as late as 5pm. He can't seem to go from 2 (if he wakes at this time after his lunch nap) all the way to bedtime.

Perhaps when he is closer to 8 months then I can drop this catnap and just give him two naps.

What do you all think?

The reason for the question is that he still wakes three times during the night and I am wondering if its related to his daytime naps. He self settles at the start of the night, but I confess I do rock him back or feed him when he wakes at other times. Am I in denial that this could be the reason he is waking?

Um, DD is 7 months. She gets up at 7.30am and has 20 minute naps just before each meal time - so about 12.30pm & 5.30pm. She might have another short nap inbetween but it will only be for about 20 minutes (or a mid-morning nap). She doesn't go to bed until about 9.30pm though because if she did she would be awake at 5.30am! We prefer to do the extra "awake" couple of hours in the evening rather than the very early mornings Smile.
