My son is seven months next week. For the first two months he co-slept, until silent reflux reared its head. Ever since, he has slept at a 45-degree angle in his pram--until 5.5 months next to our bed, and ever since in the nursery.
How on earth do we transfer him to a crib, given that he hates it with a passion? I BF to sleep, but somehow he senses the long descent from my arms to crib, wakens and screams. I absolutely don't want to do CC, as DS is a typical high-needs baby (colic/reflux alumni, incredibly alert etc.). He naps really well on our bed, so sleeping flat is no longer an issue. Most nights he does twelve hours, with the odd wake-up here and there.
Is a toddler bed a foolish idea (we're thinking with guard rails). Or do I somehow persevere with the crib?
