How many layers with a baby sleeping-bag?

THis might be a bit of a silly question, but here goes...

DS (6 months), previously a good sleeper, has started waking frequently throughout the night.

He has recently learnt how to roll from his back to his front, and has started trying to do this in his crib during the night. In the process he kicks off all his bedding, gets cold, and then starts crying until he's tucked back in again.

So, DH has come home with a 2.5 tog sleeping bag for DS to sleep in, in the hope that'll solve the problem.

Question is, how many layers are we meant to put on DS? Is it just his clothes and the gro-bag?

Normally, he sleeps in a body suit, sleepsuit, and has a sheet, a doubled over cellular blanket and another cellular blanket on his feet. I'm a bit confused about how the sheet & blankets would transfer into a tog rating.

We use a 2.5 tog sleeping bag and DS (8 months) wears a sleepsuit with a long-sleeved vest underneath.

When it's really cold he wears a fleecey sleepsuit; otherwise just a normal cotton one.

mine always wore a vest and babygrow/sleepsuit or a a vest and a pair of pjs and when very cold a fleecy sleepsuit.

then in the summer they were in the lightweight ones with either a long or a short sleeved vest, with or without pj's depending on temp.

is it a proper 'grobag' one if so they come with a little cardboard thermometor and it has a guide on the back of it as to what they shoudl wear with the grobag depending on temp, that was helpful when ihad my first!
