I don't know if it's an ear infection, sickness, night separation anxiety, teething, night terrors or what but she wakes ever couple hours screaming and high pitched screaming and wretching screaming she is inconsolable until I pick her up then she instantly calms down but if I put her back in crib she screams again so I bf her and put her back in crib till the next time she wakes up anyone else with this problem she used to sleep great up until a month ago

wind? my dc2 still gets it. are you still burping her after a feed? it's quite normal to get out of the habit after those first fractious few months and then forget you ever did it. have done it twice with both mine and still see mums at my peer support group do it.
could try it? Would account for her being happy being upright with you and then uncomfortable lying down again?

She's never really had problems with gas after I feed her as I bring her up to the burping position to burp her she usually beats me to it or else after the first 3 pats she lets out a big one

hmm in which case am flummoxed. i seem to remember i started reswaddling dd1 at 4-5 months for similar reasons, but it doesn't work for everyone. i hope she's not coming down with anything (i'm sure you'd see it in the day though, surely)
sorry i'm not being much help

MummyElk · 28/01/2012 04:50

*started swaddling again - sorry for rubbish syntax

She always hated being swaddled she likes to sprawl out and I think she's getting a cold she has more mucus

She might have more wind than you think - DS used to burp once then get more later making him scream on the night (he has reflux too).

Also if she's getting a cold it could be an ear infection or something putting pressure on her sinuses when flat? Ask a doctor to check her ears.

In the meantime, try propping up her cot with books at the head end under the legs to see if that helps?

Ya I have a blanket under the mattress to raise it up a bit I dont think gas bothers her because she farts all day and doesn't get upset and burps by herself a lot and she's never fussy before or anything I'm thinking it has to be an ear infection or something it's just do hard to tell because it only happens at night
