Can someone please come to my house, put my ds to bed and then put me to bed?!

This is just a Friday I've had enough and I'm bloody tired moan really...

Ds is 8 weeks tomorrow and I'm so desperate for him to sleep better in the early mornings, from 5 onwards as at the moment after second night feed he just won't settle and it's driving me nuts, I'm also finding being awake from 5am every day so exhausting. Im also awake numerous other times in night as well. My vision is blurred from tiredness! I think now as well I'm just over tired as went to bed last night and ds was asleep in Moses and even though I was so knackered I just couldn't drop off! Soooooo frustrating!

I'm also getting confused and frustrated by conflicting advice about getting your baby in a routine, blah blah blah...would love for ds to sleep for longer periods at night but at 8 weeks is it realistic and how do you do it??? My friend has been doing gina ford thing and seems to think after a lot of stress and persistence it's paid off...my ds does pretty much what he wants in the day in terms of naps and feeds and there is some semblance of a routine at night just don't like it! We can generally get him to bed by 9 then sometimes dream feed at 10-10.30 then up 2-3 then again 5-6 then pretty much awake til get up about 8 for feed. Can I do better than this? Any tips?!

You probably don't want to hear this but actually that doesn't sound too bad for one so young. People with babies who sleep for hours and hours from the early days are in a minority and are damn lucky!

Does he wake more often in the night than you're feeding him, or is he 'just' waking at 1030, 2-3 and 5-6?

Can you go to bed at 9 with your DS, let your DP do dream feed if you're not BF, and then you will get a really decent stretch of sleep. 5 am is crucifying tho, horrible time to get up for the day.

Personally I think gina ford probably works if you have a naturally gina-fordish baby. If you don't, there's no persuading a tiny baby to do what you desire routine-wise, or at least there isn't in my experience!

The only other thing I can suggest is bring your baby into bed with you. YOu may get more sleep that way, you may not, but it could be worth a try...
