I try and get my ds (5.5m) to sleep for a little while yes, but not after 5. His last nap today ended at 3.20 though....so at bath time he was grumpy and fell asleep after only drinking half his bedtime feed....which isn't great. But we'll see how the night goes?!?!

When my dd was this age she would have her third and final nap from 4:15/4:30 until 5:00 at the latest

yes I know that is the pattern that baby ought to fall into at some point, but we are struggling with all naps so I didn't bother with it today, in the vain hope that he might go down a bit better ie. stay asleep a bit longer at bedtime. It sort of worked. I am the one craving routine these days, but it's impossible with a toddler who is at nursery every day, lunch , supper etc.

DS had a late afternoon nap (4.30-5pm) until he was 6mo, Gina Ford says they should drop this nap at 3mo but I don't know anyone who did. HTH

Yes, my twins sleep anytime from 4 to 430, I always wake them by 5 though so they go down at 7.

Mine did, I called it the pre-bedtime-powernap. Very useful with DS2 for giving DS1 his tea. DS2 is now 7 months and I think we have dropped it for the last month or so, though sometimes he is so exhausted he falls asleep on me at around 6pm and has to be woken up to go to bed.
