Did your baby sleep through and then stop?

DD is 8.5 weeks old and from birth she has been a fantastic sleeper at night and from 4 weeks she has slept from 11pm - 6/7am (very occasionally waking at 3am)

I am currently debating whether or not to introduce a bottle. The main factor in deciding not to, at the moment, is because she is sleeping through, and I'm not too tired. On the other hand I am concerned that if I don't introduce a bottle soon she could refuse it completely.

I am wondering if she will continue to sleep through or whether this is a lovely flukey stage and she will start waking at night when she needs more? Has anyone had a baby who sleeps through and then stopped? Knowing this might help my bottle decision.

Thanks!

I have had babies who have slept through and then stopped. It was nothing to do with food or hunger though. There are many, many things that can disturb a baby's sleep. With DC3 it was a developmental thing I think, she was great til 4 months and then her sleep went to pot. A bottle wouldn't have helped, it was never about hunger with her.

Introducing the odd bottle with expressed milk shouldn't hurt but I wouldn't think of it as a sleep aid. I found it handy to introduce the odd bottle so I could go out from time to time or in fact just feel like I COULD go out if I wanted, I rarely actually did!!

Ling I wouldn't give her a bottle in the night, its just if she does start waking we could do the 10pm feed as a bottle and I could go to bed early.

Natasha what age was your DS when he slept through / stopped?
