My 10 month old DS wakes at 2 every night. We treat it as a night waking and gently settle him back to sleep. The problem is, after this, he's just really unsettled - moaning and fidgeting. He self settles at night (between 6.30-7.30pm) and has a dreamfeed at 11 (I did knock this on the head but reinstated it to see if it would stop the 2am waking).
He's now starting waking at 5.30am. We tried treating this as a night waking but after a few days of him screaming for an hour and banging about in his cot, we've given in and he's up every morning at 5.30!! He's knackered by 6.30-7 and has a nap, which says to me he's up too early but he's so wilful and will NOT stay asleep! I've tried feeding him, co-sleeping with my arm across his body in a cuddle, leaving him in his cot.......
We just seem to limp from 2am and we're shattered!
Everyone keeps telling me he'll sleep through the night but I'm getting tired of waiting!!!
I don't want to leave him to cry it out (I know it works for some - no criticism to you! :))
Any suggestions gratefully received.....
I've tried to read "no cry sleep solution" and I've got "solve your child's sleep problems" on order from Amazon!! :)
He has 3 meals a day, is a good eater and has an 8oz bottle at bedtime and another at 11 although often doesn't finish it. Has started refusing his morning bottle.
