Dd,5 months won't settle in crib-how can I cosy it up?

Dd slept well in Moses basket, will sleep on, or later on in the night in our bed and in car seat. But rocking crib she hates. I've tried propping up one end because she's got a cough and thought that might help. She's in a sleeping bag. I've put fleece blanket under the blanket to try and make it a bit softer. Any other ideas? Or maybe it's coincidence and she'd be waking with the cough anyway? I'm not a natural co sleeper - took me a year or so to have dh in bed and sleep properly and I don't have that long before sanity runs out!

Try rubbing your scent on the sleeping bag, or get a teddy and place it next to her. It quite possibly could be the cough waking her up, and maybe when thats settles down she'll go back to sleeping properly. It sounds to me though that she is used to being able to smell you, so (gross i know) but when you are slightly sweaty, rub her teddy over your skin so that it gets your scent on it. Also try very quiet music, just barely able to hear. She is probably used to being able to hear you moving, as we all do in our sleep, even if its only to turn over. It worked with my son, and he would only sleep on me, then in the car seat. You could also try holding her hand until she falls asleep in there. It takes patience but you will get there. xxx

I've put yesterday's top under the sheet-yum! Here's hoping it makes a difference! Thanks for the advice Smile

How did your little one sleep? Any better? x

Ah...thanks for asking. Slept couple hours in crib then, despite my smelly old top (or maybe because of it!) she came in with me Blush. Have banished dh for a few nights so we can all catch up. Not exactly the plan-but we're all a bit more rested so that's good.
