Should I try a pillow for dd 10 months

My dd often struggles to get to sleep at night, she can't seem to get comfortable. She sleeps on her tummy with her bum in the air and it looks really awkward. My sil suggested a pillow, her dd was the same and it helped.

So I bought one from mothercare but am now having doubts as dd is only 10 months. Am scared it's a big risk. Never had this issue with Ds, he slept happily on his side.

My DD always slept like that - she seemed perfectly happy and comfy.

My DD has had one from 13 months. I seem to recall reading somewhere they shouldn't have bedding (pillow or duvet) until a year old as they might get caught up and be unable to breathe.

FWIW, my daughter often sleeps on her front with her bum in the air, I think a lot of babies do!

Gave it a go last night and she was much easier to settle. Maybe just a coincidence, time will tell!

I gave my dd a pillow at around 10 months.

I put it under the fitted sheet and it worked a treat :)

Is the concern about pillows that they might get stuck under them? I was wondering if it was something to do with their softness, so that the baby's face gets' squished into it and he can't breathe, if you see what I mean.

I ask, because we co-sleep, DS with no pillow and me with a pillow. But when he wakes and won't settle I let him fall asleep on my pillow and he sleeps wonderfully. Maybe I could put a pillow under the sheet for him, if the squishiness isn't the issue? He's nine months.

Another one with a 10mo who sleeps face down, bum up. No pillows here.
