The babybay cot - what comes next?!

Hello. I have a babybay cot (the sort that clips onto the side of our bed), and I love it! Alas my 4 month old daughter looks like she will grow out of it all too soon. We have a big cot set up ready in what will eventually become her room - but I had hoped to get several more months out of our lovely near-co-sleeping arrangement. Do any former babybay cot users out there have any advice about 1) how long they managed to use their babybay for, and 2) how to manage a gentle transition into the 'big cot'?

watching with interest, DS is 19 weeks and rapidly growing out of our arms reach cosleeper. I have started putting him in his cot with toys during the day while I have a shower etc but he hates it :( not sure what we're going to do!

Hi SpannerPants - Thanks for your post - That sounds like a good tactic about 'fun time' in the big cot during the day - (even if its not always fun!) I've read about that in the 'no-cry sleep solution'. I've tried that with DD too, and she wasn't very impressed. I think I'm going to start measuring up the big cot and our bedroom to try and see if theres room to wedge it in somehow, but it will be a squeeze!

A belated thank-you misdee - its good to know there is something like that out there. We are now using the big cot in our room, but as I thought, we are up and down like a yo-yo during the night! We'll see if she gets used to it.....!
