I am having real trouble functioning in the mornings when my daughter gets up. I know I am really lucky as she tends to sleep until 6.30/7 but before 7.30 I just can't wake up. It's e mammoth effort to drag myself out of bed and it takes me a few hours to properly wake up. Sometimes I am shattered all day. I am usually in bed before 10.30pm and I've tried earlier. It might seem like a small problem but it's really affecting me as it makes me miserable and moody.

Huge mug of coffee Grin. Having said that you might want to see the gp as you might be anaemic which makes you feel lethargic.

You need to go to bed earlier for a few days to see any difference.

Also drink lots of water through the day, but especially in the morning.

I'm pregnant and have this - it's because I'm dehydrated and iron levels are low. So first thing, I drink a big glass of water, nibble on toast, drink more water, have protein based breakfast (usually scrambled eggs) and have spatone (iron supplement). I find this wakes me up a lot quicker than tea or coffee!

I can completely sympathise with you there I feel like that every morning until I realise i'm gonna be so late for work! What might help you is getting everything ready the night before for first thing in the morning, it helps me a bit. I'd love to see if anyone has a solution to this too!

No solution here, just understanding! The DC know not to expect too much from me chat wise first thing.DH hasn't quite got it yet though. Angry I'm on auto pilot each morning and my 'fog' doesn't lift until about ten. It sucks!!

Me too! Coffee helps ...

Cold shower works....only for the brave! You can turn teh water to hot straight after to warm yourself back up.

Have a light and early evening meal - before 7pm. Ideally cooked veg. If your liver didn't have time to do its work overnight, it can make you feel tired in the morning..
You may not notice the difference after one night though, but there is a difference!
