PLEASEEEEEEEEEE....
DD used to be ok at going to bed. She would go in her cot and talk until she fell asleep but that stopped over a month ago and now she screams if we leave the room. Its becomming really tiring to get her to sleep.

She also still wakes at least once a night.

Ive tried CC but she really cries and gets very upset, plus it doesnt seem to work. Weve tried at various stages and at our best go she cried solidly for 2 hrs every single night for a fortnight before we stopped.
I just cant understand why she isnt sleepng through or why she suddenly wont sleep on her own. Ive tried a nightlight and a llulaby but nothing works apart from us sitting with her.
Shes always woken at night but I now think she should be sleeping better.

Help me please as im tired and fed up.

Watching with interest as my 15mth ds has also been like this over the last few wks since his molars have come through. He would normally talk to himself before falling asleep but now he wants us to stay in the room and screams if we leave. We've gone back to cc and he is eventually settling after 30mins or so. Could you dd be teething?

she has just cut 2 canines but thats only this week and shes been like this now for more than a month.
Orinoco she started shouting now ' mummy come here'if the crying doesnt get a response.

Im just fed up with it. Why cant I have a sleeping toddler?

Kbaby, I sympathise, I really do.
My DD is 18months and hasbeen exactly the same - although isnowhere near stringing asentence together yet, thank god! I thought alot of it was the ecitement and disruption over Christmas but in the last 3-4 weeks she has has cut through about 6 teeth, 2 big doubles, 2 in the middle and 2 at the front, poor little sole. Think thisishugely to do with her not sleeping. She wont go to sleepin her cot, I have resortedtoletting her fall asleep in her buggy and then tranferring her upstairs, although she will wake in the night and just stand in her cot screaming, CC doesn't work for us either. I end up bringing herin with us just so I get some sleep

What a relief!!! ithought i was going round the twist my daughter is 17mths old and started screamin in her cot at night 2 for bout 2 weeks now she has also just cut about 6 teeth. She wont even go near her cot now she screams! so i either have to cradle her to sleep or put her in her pushchair in her brothers room until she falls asleep! I'm so tired from it all i feel like im doing something wrong. My son was never like this.... Any advice please help!!!!

read this thread with interest as my DS (19 months) did this a couple of months ago after always sleeping thorugh 7-7. It was a shock and the first night I ended up lying on the floor with him! However he gets more upset about being awake than what actually woke him in the first place iyswim and me going to him would end up making it worse - would end fighting wioth me and kicking, a full on tantrum which would not get any better if I put him back in the cot. After a couple of nights I got tough and would just pat him for a couple of mins every 15 mins or so. But would not pick him up or speak to him. After a few nights of crying and calling "mummy cuddle" he stopped and is now fine again.I think its the stage when they begin to realise that when they cry mummy (or daddy) will come and cuddle etc eventually so then they learn that its worth it to keep crying, iyswim.

Sorry but think that sometimes you need to be mean to be kind!!
