How can I get my DS to nap in his cot?

My DS is 9 months and I'm going back to work in 2 weeks, so he will be going to nursery. I am slightly worried about his naps when he is there though, because I just can't get him to nap in his cot, and instead he naps in the pram, where he sleeps really well. On the rare occasions that I have managed to put him down in the cot (asleep), he only sleeps for about 30 minutes, whereas he will sleep for over an hour in the pram. What I have been doing is rocking him to sleep in my arms and trying to put him in the cot, but as soon as I get anywhere near the cot he is suddenly wide awake again. At bedtime he will self settle and goes into the cot awake, but he won't do it during the day. I could probably take the pram to the nursery so that he can have his naps in it, but it would be better if he would sleep in a cot (and when he's at home too), and would be easier for the nursery staff too.

Can anyone suggest how I can get my DS to nap in the cot?
Thanks :)

I had the same problem with my LO and it was around this age that she finally started self-settling in her cot. Don't ask me how or why, it just happened!

Instead of worrying too much, why not have a chat with the nursery manager and ask if they are happy for him to sleep in a pram. You may also find that he automatically settles in a cot at nursery as it's a different environment and there are no prior associations.

Good luck. :)
