Hi

My daughter is 6 months and still in our bedroom, i'm really reluctant to put her in her own room at the moment, had a bit of a fright the other day, I put her in her cot when i'm getting her stuff sorted before she goes to bed anyway she is dribbling alot and she must have swallowed some saliva and it went down the wrong way basically she almost choked had it not been for the fact i heard her I dread to think what might have happened and this is partly why i'm scared of her being on her own in case it happens again and i dont hear it, has anyone had the babies in with them longer than 6 months and was it ok when you finally put them in their own rooms, thanks

My ds stayed with us for longer because of our living arrangemenst and he was fine when he went into his own room. I continued to use the monitor until 6 months ago when he turned 4.

I have a friend who has a ds that is nearly 4 and he still sleeps in their room and their house has 4 bedrooms.

I had DD in my room until she was 2.5
It was a bit of a nightmare getting her into her room but after a couple of weeks, she seemed okay with it.

With DS, I moved him into DD's room when he was 6 months old. He has always been advanced for his age so I was always confident with him.

If you want to move your DD into her own room, you can always use a monitor for reassurance.

Ds1 stayed in our room until he was 2.5yrs old. We'd got his own room ready for him a few weeks earlier and let him wander in and out of there during the day to get used to it. One night he decided he was going to sleep in his new room and he's been sleeping in there ever since. Ds2 slept in our room up until a few nights ago. He is 2.10yrs. We kept him in with us for longer because he needs very little sleep and we didn't want him disturbing his brother. Again he too just decided one night that he wanted to sleep in the other room and so far it's all been fine.
