Hello,
My DS is 15 wks and has a very good routine which he thrives on. On two occassions recently we have got him bathed, fed and ready for bed as normal but put him in his car seat and gone to friends for dinner. Both occasions he was hysterical and refused to sleep. He had access to a travel cot. This caused a viscious circle and now we are thinking that if we want to do this, we might need to do the bed time routine at the house we are visiting. Prior to both this visits myself and my DP went for dinner at a restaurant with him and he was awake but settled down to sleep in his pushchair. We did the bedtime ritual at home as normal. Look forward to hearing your suggestions.

Yup, sounds like you've reached the end of the "portable baby, we can still have a social life, tinkling laugh" stage.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but after 3 months DS point blank refused to go to sleep under the table in his car seat any more Sad

Start hosting piss ups dinner parties instead.

Have them over for dinner. Or put to bed, get baby-sitters in and then go out. That's what we do!
