Until last week we could put her to bed and she might cry for a minute but then she'd settle. Now she stands up instead, even in a sleeping bag, and because she's tired then falls over and bangs head. Advice? Only way I've managed it last two nights is let her fall asleep on my then put her to bed but can't do that every night.

It's just an irritating phase. In a couple of weeks she will be steadier on her feet and you will just be able to leave her.

i i have had this since since my dd was 7months now 8:5 mths. After a while you cant do much about it...well if i go in and lie her down she will satnd up again.her brain is telling her thats what she can do right now and it cant be stopped,or at least thats what im experiencing.the other thing you can try is a kind of pickup putdown technique to tire her out and evwntually she will be too tired to keep standing up,especially in the grobag as it requires more physocal effort to drag themselves up and adjust balance...meanwhile it good practice in standing for them!

I am hoping it's just a phase for my DS. Don't have much hope though. He learned to sit up at about 5 months and has been doing it ever since (he is 9 months now).

We had this with our DD at about eight months. It's lasted a couple of weeks but she seems to have stopped now.

We held her unti she slept most nights as we found pick up put down too lengthy and tedious!

keep an eye though... as soon as mine was standing he couldn't be trusted in a cot alone as he figured out how to climb out (still don't quite know how - the bars were up to his shoulders, and he had nothing but a blanket in there, and was in a grobag)

Dd did this at ten months. Lasted a couple of weeks. Annoying...........

A phase. They can't help it. Do whatever you can to get through it. It will pass. It's how they master new skills.
