When is it safe to leave baby sleeping on front?

My 7 month old ds has started sleeping on her front and we are worried something could happen to her - all the info says babies should sleep on their back. Should we keep turning her onto her back or just leave her be?

If she can roll then she's fine - and will only roll herself back to where she's comfortable anyway.

I htin that once they can do it on their own then it is not as worrying.
If you put her dwn on her back, then I wouldn't worry too much.

as soon as they can roll by themselves they're fine. advice is to keep putting them to sleep on their backs I think, but she'll just sleep how she feels comfortable. DD started sleeping on her front around 7 months, but within a month was back to sleeping on her back/side anyway

As soon as they are able to turn themselves over you can let them sleep how they like. You will probably find she turns over several times in her sleep from back to front and over again - it's normal and you don't need to worry.

I still turn my 2.8 year old before I go to bed. The head says it is silly to do this, but the heart says do it anyway!

I loved seeing my DS when he started turning himself over for sleep - it's still the same - place on side, roll over and bum up. Love it!

My dd used to sleep bum up as well, on her knees and with her nose pressed into the mattress. It looked really sweet, but it worried us to start with because she was only 11 weeks old when she started rolling over and over, and began rolling onto her front to sleep.

The HV reassured us that if she could roll herself back then she would be fine, so we just used to leave her - I would have been up all night rolling her onto her back if we hadn't!

I must admit DS slept on front from a very early age (2 or 3 weeks), and he slept much better that way than if he was on his back. Used to sleep for longer that way.

He's 2.7 now, and still prefers to sleep that way round. Bum up, legs crossed and everything!

I know this goes against advice but both babies were non smokers pet free house, breastfed and in the same room as me.

Mine started rolling onto his front at about 4 months - HV said don't worry as he was able to roll back if he wanted to or yell and let us know if he needed help! Still always put him on his back when he goes down though.

Leave her be. The advice is not to PUT them on their back. Once they can do it themselves, you can just leave them to it.

Glad it's not just me that worried about this. Dd was like a little pancake when she went to bed, she'd just flip onto her front and there was nothing I could do to make her sleep on her back.
