My 8 yr old DS can't get to sleep recently as he says he keeps seeing faces and they won't go away...

I have been firm with him staying in his bed / told him to focus on happy things but he is getting in a state now and up and down the stairs until 9.30pm at least... not sure what to do next! This is new behaviour...

I'm having a similar problem with my 10yr old son, he won't go to sleep unless I go to bed (means early nights for me or late ones for him) Its been going on for a while and it was only tonight I actually got a reason from him, he said he feels scared anytime he's on his own, day or night. He said he has bad thoughts and that he can make almost anything into some sort of face. I'm a single mum and right now I feel awful because i don't make my son feel safe. He said he only feels safe when he's in my bed. I'm all out of ideas :(
