2 year old waking at 4 am and asking for milk

Since about 14 months DS has been sleeping through without any milk during the night.

However, since recently turning 2, for the past 4 nights or so he has been waking about 4/4.30, asking for (and receiving) milk, then settling down to sleep after. He has also been drinking more milk than usual in the day.

Does it sound like a growth spurt? Should we continue, or refuse, to give milk in the night? (At about 14 months, I refused milk in the night and after a 20 minute tantrum he gave up and has never asked for it since).

Any thoughts gratefully received.

I would try hard to refuse, otherwise you are back to being up every night giving him milk. He should be eating and drinking enough during the day and not need a night time milk drink at 2 yrs. Unless of course you are very worried about his slow weight gain and he is skinny.
How about leaving a beaker of water by the cot/bed.?

Thanks for getting back.

He is certainly not skinny.....He has now (thankfully) reverted to sleeping through most nights.

Thanks again.
