I'm sure this came up in the list of "threads I wish I could start"!
DD is nearly 14 months and for the past week has been sleeping in later and later. This morning I had to wake her at 9.30am and had been crashing around the house, with doorbells ringing and all sorts for ages before that (didn't want to go in and find her blue ) Saturday she woke at 9.15 and Sunday 8.45.

She has been going to bed normal time (7.30 to 8pm) and then not a peep out of her all night, which is normal, but she always used to wake at 7.30 to 8am.

Don't get me wrong, I love it, but just wondered if it's normal? She has just had a series of cold/cough/general grottiness for 3 weeks so maybe she's just catching up after that, or sleeping much more deeply as she is better.

As I said, you will all hate me...

Blimey a new record of 10.30 am today! She was up in the night for an hour with a dodgy tooth so I guess that explains it...

This is STILL going on and she is now 16.5 months! Had to wake her at 9.30am and 10 am this weekend. She also had a 2.5 hours sleep on Sat and I woke her after 2.5 hours on Sunday.

I was wondering if maybe she had the GF and was sleeping so much because of that? She seems very happy in herself.

CD, the sluglet is still like that at 26 months. She sleeps for 2 or so hours at lunchtime, goes to bed at 7.30pm and wakes around 9 to 9.30am. When she wakes she sits happily in her cot putting nappies on her toys, waiting for one of us to appear. on New Year's Day she was still asleep at 10 to 10am. My advice....enjoy it.

My 3yo ds still has an afternoon nap most days, and will easily sleep 2h. I often get him up after 1.5h, so that we can have some time together before 1yo dd wakes, but even if they both go the full 2h, he is more likely to still be deeply asleep than she is. He sleeps 11-12h at night, and if left in the morning, will usually go back to sleep again! Dh says ds shouldn't be let to sleep so long during the day, but IMO just because he can get away with skipping his nap from time to time, or with only having 1.5h nap, doesn't mean he shouldn't have more. If ds is still asleep after 2h during the day, going to bed easily at night, and sleeping a full night, then I think he needs the sleep.

And I say: HALLELUYAH!
