What time did/does your 3mth old go to sleep for the night?

I can't get dd2 to settle properly any earlier than 9.30ish, sometimes later. I have her up here in jammies etc from about 7, but I just get catnaps until 9.30 or there abouts, then she'll do a decent 4hr stretch. I'm not bothered about her going more than 3-4hrs at night at the mo (although it would be lovely!) but am starting to miss my evenings- by 9.30-10 I just go to bed too! When did your LO start to settle a bit earlier?

my 3 month old went at 7:30 with a few dummy pops, but then she doesn't really sleep from midday onwards, just short naps (also have to say that she had colic and screamed from 5-9 until about two weeks ago so I am in bliss at the moment)

before she was more settled in the evening I used to just keep her with us downstairs as there was no point in trying to force it, it was only when we were disturbing her that we realised she would be better off upstairs (with monitor).

I think about 9ish - then the clocks changed luckily and he started falling asleep at 8!

Dd was cluster feeding At that age and finally settling at 9.30 pm

Mine was cluster feeding till a few weeks ago so 9.30 a vast improvement from 1am!! she doesnt take a dummy at the mo but I'm tempted to try!

DS is 15 weeks and has been going down at 8 since about 6 weeks. We are now regularly getting a full night as he rarely wakes before 6. If he does wake aty six its a feed and back down until 9ish.

Oh crossed posts sorry! Yes we were keeping her downstairs until a few weeks ago then she started getting really screamy and overtired so I felt it was time to start a semblance of a bedtime routine! Can't remember from dd1 when it moved to being a bit earlier?

Lockets I only have one other dd but I know what you mean, I dont think I properly focus on dd2 until dd1 is settled! But most people I know with two get the baby down first, I can't see how?!

Mine finally dropped off about 9.30ish when she was very tiny and did the whole cluster feeding thing too. She'd drop off for a bit and then wake up and feed. Think things got better around three months though. I reckon it's perfectly normal. Lovely when they finally get into a routine though and definitely worth persevering with a bedtime routine.

I have no secret, it's fluke! He self settles too, not because I've tried to get him to do that, he just does. If it make you feel any better, he won't sleep through the day at the moment.

My DS is 14 weeks and goes to bed between 7pm-8pm. I am slightly obsessed with sleep though (hence hanging out on this forum!) and started him on a bed/bath/boob routine at about 6 weeks? All came together at about 8 weeks I reckon?

He is dreamfed at about 10.30pm/11pm and then usually manages a 5 or 6 hour stretch. If he wakes before 5/6 hours he's shhh/patted back to sleep - but this has only been introduced in last couple of weeks. Next project will then be to try and get him to drop the 4am/5am feed...but I am hoping that when he goes in his own room, that'll come.

I've worked ruddy hard to get him to self-settle and believe that this is how/why he goes down. Daytime naps are short & frequent, so that also needs sorting. But he's doing so well I cannot complain.

He loves his bedtime routine and can now go down smiling etc and still nod off.

Oh, and I pretty much feed on demand during the day. And reckon that could be why he doesn't do the cluster feeding - although he does have three close feeds in the morning instead? So maybe he just reverses it all!

Poor dd2 has NO routine whatsoever, just gets dragged along with dd1, but I keep a close eye and try not to let her get overtired - at first signs of tiredness I will feed her to sleep or engineer it so we are heading out with pram then - she settles easily during the day and will even pop off if I Hoover around her at the right time! I feed on demand too, pretty frequently still during the day.
Dd1 was a nightmare so 3-4 hrs at night at this stage is quite miraculous to me! It's sounding like this bedtime is pretty normal, ah well I'll make it back to the sitting room one day!

At 3mo my DD was going to sleep at about 9.30-10pm and sleeping until 7.30-8am.

At 4mo she was going to sleep at 7pm and waking up every 3 hours. The trade off of getting my evenings back I suppose.

A year later I still can't get my head around how they'll change their routine on a sixpence

You're right, nothing lasts forever, things will be different in a few weeks!
