1 month old - wakes up if I put her down (Getting v sore arms!!)

My 1 month old baby will fall asleep on me but is very quick to wake if I put her down in her moses basket or whatever. There is absolutely NO chance of being able to put her down in her bouncy chair and e.g rock her to sleep with my foot or whatever! She will usually fall asleep in her pram but has an uncanny knack of waking up the INSTANT we get back in to the house so taking her for a walk then leaving her asleep in the pram while I do the washing up or whatever isn't an option.

We co-sleep so this isn't a problem at night just in the day when I'd like to try and get some things done!

I understand that babies need to feel safe and she will feel safer therefore will sleep easier when on me, but am interested to hear if other people's babies can be put down either before or after they fall asleep?

I only ever put ds down when he was very deeply asleep for the first 5 months I think Grin Very occasionally he fell asleep in a bouncy chair but usually he fed to sleep, was rocked to sleep or fell asleep in the pram or sling.

The sling was the best thing I got when ds was a baby - I had a Close carrier, so comfy for both of us and it meant I could go and do things while he slept.

I used a sling when DS was tiny so I could do stuff like eat lunch etc etc. On rare occasions I could put him down if I swaddled him and timed it right.... Not often though!

Get a sling. They saved my sanity.

Sling! During the day DS doesn't go down for naps either and he's 3 mo.

OK, seems unanimous! I have a sling but not v confident yet, it's a stretchy wrap sling. Will try it again. Hopefully it will change my life!
