My dd is ff and is fed every 2.5 - 3 hrs during the day. She has a feed and bedtime routine at around 8 then I feed her in the dark at 11 and she sometimes sleeps till 3. However she then wakes up by 5. She was only 6lb when she was born so I wonder if this is why she still needs to feed so often? Does anyone have any tips for trying to move her toward longer stretches of sleep? I don't want to do anything that involves leaving her to cry while she is so little but any gentler ideas would be appreciated.

I think because she was 6lb at birth she won't be able to hold much in her tummy so will need to be fed often. Why don't you try cluster feeding her at night e.g 7pm, 9pm, 11pm that may help.

But really she sounds like a good sleeper for such a young baby so I'm sure she will do it in her own time.
