Is introducing a dummy during 4 month growth spurt/regression good idea?

Hi

I am feeling desperately miserable from sleep deprivation. We have done tolerably well without a dummy until now but DS is fighting sleep since he turned 16 weeks. I think he is also teething and so that could be a factor. Is it worth introducing a dummy? He only seems to self settle after waking from sleep by sucking his fingers.

Any advice would be much appreciated. I am worried he will become too used to a dummy.

Introducing a dummy at 2mo was the only thing that sorted my DDs sleep, although she (at nearly 6mo) is getting more dependant on it, I won't lie.

If it works for you then do it but he probably will become used to it!

I tried... DS refused outright, there was no way he was letting me put a dummy in his mouth.
