Should 9wk old DD be sleeping 19hrs a day?

DD is 9wks old. Since having her 8wk jags last week she has been sleeping between 18 and 20 hours out of every 24. Is this normal? It seems a lot compared to how much DS slept at the same age, and compared to the other babies in our group.

Dunno, but DS3 was about the same at 9 weeks - 12 hours straight at night, and lots of long naps during the day. Friends commented that they never saw him awake! He is now 12 weeks, and quite a bit more awake - still sleeps plenty overall (I think) but noticeably less than before.

Mind you, he was like that from birth until about 10/11 weeks, it wasn't something that came on following his jabs. If DD is otherwise healthy, happy, feeding well and gaining weight etc, she's probably fine - but maybe worth a quick word with the HV if you're concerned that this has come on since her jabs??
