Do solids make a difference to sleep?

Have just started to wean my ds onto baby rice as gone from almost sleeping through to waking several times a night. I have heard that it does make a difference to a baby's sleep but other people say not. I would be interested to hear what people's thoughts are as I am getting desperate for some sleep!

With my no1 solids made no difference to his sleep or any other behaviour. He enjoyed them, but with hindishgt I can see that I introduced solids too early (4 1/2m). With no2 I started a little later (just over 5m) when she was cleary interested - guilting us when we ate and trying to take our food - and it made an immediate difference to her sleeping. I had tried breastfeeding her more often, but it made no difference to her sleep or to her very slow weight-gain.

My DD starting waking at night for milk when I introduced solids. I never worked out why.. was she getting tummy ache, was she thirsty, was I weaning her with the wrong food, was she hungry, did she want comfort???? Who knows, but it stopped after a couple of months.
