What song lyrics do you dredge up from your memory at 4 am when a lullaby is called for?

For me it tends to be anything I know the words to, so musicals, Christmas Carols or Beatles songs.

Last night (or this morning rather) it was 'Little Donkey' with the words changed to "Little [SkaterBabe]".

I am either totally unoriginal and go for classic baby songs like 'twinkle twinkle', 'rockaby baby' or just make up tunes and words about whatever comes into my head .... often about the sun, stars, wind, rain or talking to DS about himself.

skaterGrrrrl I think I remember you from a pregnancy thread (ages ago now obviously) about going to Glastonbury. Off to any festivals this year with your little one? We are going to WOMAD to test the waters Smile

That's right Ella I went to Glasto while 7 months pregnant. We are taking SkaterBabe to Womad too this year :)

I sing twinkle twinkle, over and over, and over, and over. Found just sticking to the same tune relentlessly seemed to work better then changing songs, though pretty dull. BUT I know some more verses which keeps it marginally more interesting, they are really lovely so here they are:

Twinkle, twinkle, little star
How I wonder what you are
Up above the world so high
Like a diamond in the sky

When the blazing sun is gone
