Do you have toys in the cot?

My DS is 7mo, not rolling over yet but moving himself around a fair bit. I am thinking about putting some toys in his cot to help him distract himself and settle self off to sleep, especially for naps.

I don't want to make him frustrated though if they move out of his reach.

What type of toys are safe and what have you found works well?

Thanks Smile

I think at that age DD had toys that attached on to the side of the crib, she had one of these which she loved

We have just started putting DS (also 7mo)'s little cuddly aardvark toy in the cot with him - he likes to wrestle with it until he falls asleep. It's quite good as he can also have it at nursery to help him nap there. He also has one of those toys that lights up and plays soothing music, which is great for settling him back off if he wakes up at night.

Paranoid mum here. I never put anything in her cot with her until recently for safety reasons. She is now 17 months. She had a mobile though until she could reach it.
