hes 18 months, goes to sleep really well, we just plonk him down about 7.30pm, he drops off and sleeps through but hes awake every morning by about 6-6.30am and its making us sooo tired.
Can you oontrolled crying in a morning and just leave him cry for a bit?

What does everyone else do?

Hi, to be honest that sounds like a reasonable aount of night time sleep for a baby that age. It's great that he goes to sleep on his own and sleeps through!!
Can you go to bed earlier to get more sleep so you're not tired? Or maybe put some toys in his cot to play with in the morning when he wakes up?
I really don't think leaving him to cry is fair if he is waking up after 11 hours of sleep and is ready to start the day.

Agree this sounds like a great amount of sleep. Do not change a thing! And take it in turns to get up with him :-)

Sorry - you are being a bit greedy in baby terms :-) You are shattered on 8 hours sleep? Sure you don't need more iron etc?
