DS cries when I put him to bed but not when my DH does

My 9 mo will cry and cry when I put him down in his cot at night but when my DH puts him to bed he goes down without a wimper. Any ideas why?? This started about 2 weeks ago.

Are you breastfeeding? Is he more clingy to you generally?

I found this with my DD about this age, maybe earlier when she stopped needing a feed in the night. I found it was great to let DH do the night-time wakings for a change (I had been BF-ing til then so done virtually all of them!) and it helped her to start sleeping through when she realised she woke up only to a non-milk producing daddy!

I am BFing but stopped night feeding a few months ago. He's been ill and teething lately and this has disrupted his sleep. Until a couple of weeks ago I could put him down and walk out - no longer. Still not a peep out of him when DH puts him to bed. Weird

Separation anxiety -you're his primary carer, and he doesn't like it when you are getting ready to go away, because he can't predict when you'll be back. It's a healthy, normal, developmental phase.
