well is it ok for me to put him down in his Moses basket in our room when he goes off in the evening, whilst me and dh are downstairs, or does all sleep have to be supervised?

It's just that at the minute we are letting ds who is 11 weeks old fall asleep in his bouncy chair in the living room, usually after lots of cluster feeding, and then taking him up with us when we go to bed. But now, with the lighter nights, I think he is getting a little distracted and fighting sleep downstairs, so would like to put him upstairs. Is this ok? Am I being terribly pfb? I am also trying to stop feeding to sleep, trying to put him down when he is drowsy but not fully asleep so he will learn to self settle - is this ok too or too earl/ too late?

Fine to put him upstairs, yes.

Feeding to sleep is down to you and your baby's preference. Ds1 self settled remarkably early, ds2 doesn't yet and is almost 1 yr. SO, yep, give it a go, see how it works out. Sleep is mainly down to luck, imo.

There is a SIDS risk of course, and IIRC it peaks at about 12-16 weeks. However, even when all the risk factors (smoking, prematurity, poverty etc) are present, the risk is very small. Most babies will survive but there are no guarantees, even when all the safety guidelines are followed.

If it was me I would take the risk - in fact I did for daytime naps with DS2 even though we co slept and still do.
