Baby waking with wind - just wait to grow out of it?

DS is 6mo, can go 7-11, 11-1 and 1-5 but more usually is up every 2 hours. Last night/this morning he was up at 4 and it seems to be wind that wakes him. I'm reaching the end of my tether - nothing I do seems to make much difference, if he naps well in the day it helps but that can be hit and miss depending on what stage we're at with 2yo DD's routine. DD slept through at 9 months and was similarly windy, but DS seems worse (or perhaps it's because I can't sleep when he sleeps as I've another one to look after that it feels so much more arduous). Any tips? Is it just waiting it out? Gripe water seems to make no difference, massage makes no difference, he's not sicky so I don't think it's reflux, elevating cot doesn't help, what I eat doesn't seem to affect it (he's mostly BF)... He's started solids for a couple of weeks but makes no difference either. What else can I do?

(To clarify, when I say he was up at 4 today, that was up for the day and wouldn't go back down again, as well as being up every 2 hours prior - not that he went through til 4 from 7, I wish!!)

No advice I'm afraid, but watching with interest as my 6mo is exactly the same and it drives me CRAZY!

Not sure if it helps but my DD was the same, and turned out her trigger was wheat and we subsequently found out she was wheat (and a bunch of other stuff) intolerant. So when she (or I when bfing) ate wheat she couldn't digest it properly and it would sit in her gut fermenting causing wind until the body could erm... expel it. Then there would be a nappy explosion Grin

Have you tried your hv/gp? what did they say?

Oh, and yes she did grow out of most of the food intolerances but not the wheat one. 2 of the others were banana and apple - those well know early weaning staples!

I haven't tried the HV or GP, although there's a baby clinic this week I was going to get him weighed at so I'll hopefully see a HV then... I might try steering clear of the wheat to see if that helps, frankly I will try anything right now!
